What is PMVA Physical Intervention?
PMVA (Prevention Management of Violence and Aggression) Physical intervention is a set of skills used by competent staff (2 or more) to restrict the movement of an individual thereby preventing them from causing harm to themselves or others in a mental health setting. It is commonly known as restraint. Our training is not based on ‘Size or Strength’ but ‘Skill, technique and adaptability.’

What does the GSA stand for?
The GSA stands for (General Services Association) which sets the standards for our delivery of physical intervention and is the regulatory/governing body of training organisations using the GSA model of Physical Intervention Skills.
